Oval vacuum cups SO

Oval vacuum cups have considerably more suction power compared to circular vacuum cups if the width of the oval vacuum cup is equal to the diameter of the round vacuum cup. Their geometry makes them ideal for handling elongated and cylindrical products. Oval vacuum cups, also known as oval suction cups, can grip small bars, e.g., on workpieces. Oval vacuum cups are predestined for handling moulding, extrusions, tubes, bolts and similar objects with elongated shapes.

The FIPA selection includes a wide variety of oval vacuum cups. With different vacuum cup materials – including temperature-resistant ranges and ranges free of paint wetting impairment substances (PWIS) or mould release – diverse designs, models with and without bellows as well as especially resilient suction plates made of natural rubber, FIPA covers the enter range of applications for oval vacuum cups.

Oval vacuum cups, flat, universal – SO-FU

Oval vacuum cups, flat, universal – SO-FU

FIPA SO-FU series oval vacuum cups are especially suitable for handling elongated goods. The soft sealing lip of the universal oval vacuum cups also enables the reliable pick-up of slightly curved products. Generously dimensioned supports prevent the deformation of thin workpieces.

Models with 2.5 bellows are preferred if height and angle differences need to be compensated.

Flat oval vacuum cups are available in dimensions ranging from 4 x 2 mm to 100 x 30 mm.

Temperature-resistant oval vacuum cups made of Thermalon® – SKT-F

Temperature-resistant oval vacuum cups made of Thermalon® – SKT-F

The handling of hot injection moulding parts poses a special challenge for vacuum grippers. Injection moulding parts are often extremely delicate. In order to maintain production tolerances and allow for future painting or coating, the removal of parts from the injection moulding machine must be deformation-free and low-marking. The gripper material must, therefore, be free of PWIS and mould release. Since parts often have a narrow width and complex shape, oval vacuum cups need to be small enough to gently touch down even in ribbing.

All of these requirements of the plastics industry are best fulfilled with FIPA SKT-O / SKH-O series temperature-resistant Thermalon® or HNBR oval vacuum cups. These oval suction cups can be used in temperatures up to 160 °C. The FIPA range covers common sizes ranging from 4x2 mm to 45x115 mm.

Oval vacuum cups for dynamic handling of oily and dry metal sheets SM-OF e SM-OB

Oval vacuum cups for dynamic handling of oily and dry metal sheets SM-OF e SM-OB

FIPA offers durable oval vacuum cups for handling elongated or cylindrical sheet metal workpieces. Oil resistant NBR vacuum cups can handle oily and dry metal sheets. They are highly wear resistant, non-slip and free of paint wetting and impairment substances (PWIS) silicone free. Constructive measures such as cleats on the underside of the oval vacuum cups allow them to withstand very high lateral forces that occur in the dynamic handling of metal sheets. This prevents undesired deformations due to deep-drawing effects. The highly flexible sealing lip also ensures leak-free holding of arched curved sheet metal parts.

FIPA carries has various series of oval metal sheet vacuum cups in its product range:
. Oval flat vacuum cups from the SM-OF series
. Oval bellows vacuum cups from the SM-OB series

Oval bellows vacuum cups made of Vinyl – SO-BV

Oval bellows vacuum cups made of Vinyl – SO-BV

Bellows vacuum cups made of resilient, yet flexible material are required for handling foil-wrapped goods and abrasive packaging, e.g., cardboard packaging. FIPA SO-BV series oval bellows vacuum cups made of vinyl fulfil the requirements of the packaging industry. The wear-resistant vinyl ensures long service life of the oval suction cups. You benefit from long maintenance cycles and reliable operation.

Rectangle bellows vacuum cups made from Silicone – SV-RB

Rectangle bellows vacuum cups made from Silicone – SV-RB

The packaging and food industries require robust rectangular vacuum cups for the gentle handling of flexible, foil-wrapped products and filled bags. Rectangular vacuum cups can be mounted side by side on a base plate to achieve large vacuum grippers capable of reliable handling of product layers, even in foil secondary packaging.

FIPA SV-RB series rectangular bellows vacuum cups are made of FDA-compliant silicone, making them suitable for contact with food. Models are available with 2.5 and 3.5 bellows in dimensions ranging from 52x25 mm to 80x50 mm. To prevent collapse of the bellows under a high vacuum level, FIPA provides accessory wire bracket reinforcements for insertion in the bellows.

Oval vacuum cups, flat – Series SO-E

Oval vacuum cups, flat – Series SO-E

With an oval, extremely thin design with numerous gradations, these flat vacuum cups can securely pick up elongated objects. The antistatic models are especially suited for applications in the electrical engineering and electronics industries, e.g. semiconductor handling and automated handling of circuit boards with electronic components.

Their use in highly dynamic handling systems with rapid cycle times is facilitated by interlocking, clip-in fittings with high torsional strength and resistance against twisting.

FIPA SO-E series flat oval vacuum cups are available in dimensions ranging from 10x4 mm to 30x8 mm.

Oval vacuum cups, flat – Series SO-C

Oval vacuum cups, flat – Series SO-C

Oval vacuum cups generate high forces for the highly dynamic gripping of elongated products. With vacuum cup housings made of anodised aluminium, FIPA SO-C series flat oval vacuum cups are able to pick up high radial and axial loads without deformation. Torsion-resistant suction cups are designed for handling extrusions, moulding, bolts and other goods with small, elongated designs in systems with rapid cycle times.

The FIPA SO-C series of oval vacuum cups provides torsion-resistant suction cups with dimensions ranging from 30x12 mm to 190x90 mm.

Oval vacuum cups for cylindrical products – SO-Z

Oval vacuum cups for cylindrical products – SO-Z

Vacuum grippers for cylindrical/tubular products require a three-dimensional sealing lip contour that partially covers the handling goods, thus allowing a tight hold with low leakage. FIPA SO-Z series oval vacuum cups for cylindrical products with optimised sealing lip contour deliver higher suction power than standard oval vacuum cups. Round rods, bolts, needles and other cylindrical objects with diameters of 2 to 18 mm can be gripped with the oval vacuum cups of the SO-Z series.

Oval vacuum suction plates for textured surfaces – SOPL-R

Oval vacuum suction plates for textured surfaces – SOPL-R

For the handling of elongated, heavy products with difficult surfaces such as rough sawn wooden planks, oval suction plates with extremely flexible sealing lips made of wear-resistant materials provide the required high retention force with minimal leakage and long service life.

FIPA oval suction plates for structured surfaces are especially suited to the requirements of the timber industry. The vulcanised aluminium support plate achieves a high load capacity. Supports on the contact surface prevent the deformation of the product, for example, when handling thin-walled panels.

Oval vacuum suction plates – SOPL-S and SOPL-A

Oval vacuum suction plates – SOPL-S and SOPL-A

The timber and glass industries require vacuum cups made of resilient, low-marking materials. FIPA SOPL-A series oval suction plates are specially designed for handling elongated and narrow products made of glass and wood. Vulcanised aluminium support plates guarantee the tight hold and high bending strength that is required. Rubber supports prevent the deformation of the workpiece and increase lateral stability.

Oval vacuum cup plates made of wear-resistant natural rubber (NR) are designed for handling wood products. Oval suction plates made of low-marking nitrile rubber (NBR) are preferred for handling glass.
